It's near the end of the year, so what the hey, here's my list of favourites albums for 2004. I couldn't reach 10, so here's 5 in no particular order.
---------------------------------------
Velvet Revolver - Contraband
It's Rock. It's Schlock. I love it. The mixture of the rhythms from Gunners and the vocals from STP work so well on this album. I feel that every song is very very listenable and I love pumping it up LOUD! Top stuff. Roll on February at the Hordern!
Regurgitator - Mish Mash
Far and away my favourite current Australian band. And after the experience that was 'The Bubble', this band continues to pave their own path through Australian Alternative/Rock/Pop/Hip-Hop. This album is completely worth getting even if it is just for 'Don't Go To Sleep', and 'My Ego'. Classic Tunes.
Grinspoon - Thrills Kills & Sunday Pills
My 2nd favourite current Australian Band :) These guys rock out, and although this album is a little bit different to some previous stuff, it is still very very good. And it's all worth it just to see them live.
The Streets - A Grand Don't Come For Free
One of the main reasons I wanted to go to BDO 2005. This Geezer Rap just gets me everytime..
I am not hugely into listening to lyrics in songs, or even interpreting them, but these lyrics all mean something, and they are piss funny sometimes :)
Dogs Die In Hot Cars - Please Describe Yourself
Having only just discovered this band, I am yet to really listen to all their tunes, but what I have heard from this album really stands out. They are so much fun, with so much energy. You just can't stop moving :)
