The Blow-gies

Ok, so I'm an awards ceremony whore. Oscars, Globes, Emmy's, Arias, AFI's and the Logies. (NOT the Grammys) Australia's answer to the Emmys is usually pretty piss porr with uncomfortable laughter and weak presenters. Last night was at about a 7 on the patheticness scale, but could have been less if Eddie 'I'm too boring to be funny' McGuire wasn't a co-host. Andrew 'Give me something meatier than Deal or not Deal' O'Keefe and Adam 'Go you big red fire engine' Hills are actually 2 funny guys. Rove 'I was funnier at 9' McManus is a bit 'meh' nowadays. Personally I think that Andrew Denton should have been hosting the lot, but that's just because I think he's a damn legend. The frocks were sparkling and revealing. The blokes were tuxed and boring. The grog seemed to be flowing liberally and overall there were no huge surprises. Winners highlights for me were The Chaser Decides for most outstanding comedy, Love my Way for most outstanding drama and the NRL Footy Show for most Popular Sports program. They always seemed to get screwed by Sam, Eddie and Trevor from the AFL one. I think Reg Reagan may have had something to do with this win.... Although I have yet to actually watch it, I have heard some good reports and am keen to catch it on repeat soon. I just think it's cool that Foxtel got a few nominations and an award this year. Rove got the big one, which I was a little surprised with as I thought Bec was a shoe-in, but again, 'meh, who really cares? Another night of my life wasted with an awards show. Will I ever learn???
